Princess Kitty

A card fit for a Princess.........my beautiful youngest niece who turns a big 4 in October!! I didn't have any Stampin' Up! children stamp sets for this one so had to turn to my beloved Cricut Explore Machine for the Princess Cat. It's from the cartridge 'Create a Critter 2'. For the background I used the Love You and xoxo from the Bloomin Love stamp set, along with the dots from Watercolour Wings. The sentiment was from Beautiful You and I added 'Niece' using the Brushwork Alphabet. Card stock colour was Sweet Sugarplum.

Vase Easel Card

This weeks Blog post sketch was any type of easel card.

As you can see from the picture I used the Birthday Blossoms, Beautiful You and my new Brushwork Alphabet Stamp Set. I just love the Brushwork Alphabet!!! I also used my new Stitched Shapes Framelits to cut out the sentiment.

I first cut out a square with my framelit, then used my oval framelit to take away a curve from each side to make my vase shape (this did't work out how I imagined so had to cut off some more!). I had already made the pansies for another card but decided not to use them so these were in my scrap box. I finished off by adding the scrap black pieces left over from my vase to highlight the sentiment and of course an itty bitty bow in Powder Pink. Card stock was also Powder Pink and Basic Black with the Fresh Florals DSP.

Berry Burst Lacy Card

My Mum's birthday was last weekend and I suddenly realised that I hadn't made a card for her from my boys!! As I needed it toot sweet I didn't have time to think one up from scratch so had a look at the cards I had made to date. I decided that she would love the Pumpkin Pie one but in colours that would match her lounge. Then the next problem, I didn't have a GRAN stamp????!!!  After a bit of digging in my in craft boxes I found an old alphabet stamp set that I'd never used and wasn't sure it would work but I really had no choice (well I did, to go out and buy one, but with a room full of card supplies I wasn't overly happy about that).

In the end I just went with it and my mum absolutely LOVED the boys card, even more so than my own one!! It just goes to show you that everyone's taste is different! ha ha ha.

Beautifully Floral

I'm not that big on Designer Series Paper, preferring to make my backgrounds using either masks and ink or embossing folders, so today for a little change I thought I'd use DSP. I bought this paper in the clearance section online at Stampin' Up! for a bargain.

Again it was quite a quick card to make. I used the beautiful you stamp set, night of navy and sweet sugarplum card stock and the Affectionately Yours Designer Series Paper.

Pumpkin Pie Lacy Card

Today's card was relatively quick to make, which was ideal as I didn't have a great amount of time, but wanted to squeeze in a bit of card making.

I have a small stash of lace which I bought a few years back when I was visiting my uncle in Essex so thought I'd start there!

I pulled out various Stampin' Up! card stock that I had to see what would best match, and decided on the Pumpkin Pie along with Very Vanilla. For the sentiment and pansy flowers I used Tranquil Tide ink and the Birthday Blossoms stamp set, finished off with a little twine bow and a couple of pearls.

Sassy And Classy Beautiful You Card

It's my mum's birthday next weekend so I've been busy making her a card/s. I say card/s here because I've made her so many but don't know which one to choose from. I think I'll maybe go with this one as it matches the colour scheme of her lounge. I definitely take after my mum in that respect, having to have things match, that's why I started buying Stampin' Up products because they have everything to match or compliment each other!

I can't take any credit for this card as I've cased it from Shannon Colon (also known as "The Irish Scrapper") who did a tutorial for it on you tube. I'm not that good at adding links yet but if you want to see her video then go to you tube and search "Stampin' Up! Beautiful You Birthday Card Episode 167" or just search her name.

I used the layering circles rather than the stitched ovals she used, only because I don't have the stitched ovals (these are on my ever growing Stampin' Up wish list). I also decided to use a different lady and paper pieced her dress and hat, added my sentiment and 3 crystal rhinestones.

Materials I used for my A5 card were of course Stampin' Up!

Fresh Florals DSP Designer Series Paper
Sweet Sugarplum Cardstock
Fresh Fig Cardstock
Beautiful You Stamp Set
A couple of Crystal Rhinestones

I really adore this card and think I'm going to make a candle and box to match!

Sunday Sketch Club Card

My entry to the Scrimpingmommy Sunday Card Sketch Club!

Every Monday Scrimpingmommy runs a card sketch club on her Facebook "Stampin' for all community group" page and posts all entries on her blog. As I've only started buying Stampin' Up products, and don't have a large stash, I didn't think I'd be able to join in many of them. The last two weeks however have not been to use specific colours etc therefore I've been able to contribute. Last weeks card sketch was a "Birthday Card" and this weeks was size specific with a bow embellishment. I love being able to take part as it makes you feel part of the Stampin' community. I also like to see how each person interpreted the sketch as it gives you great ideas for future cards, very handy when you have a blank mind ha ha.

I must admit this is not my most creative card but it was late last night when I'd remembered about the sketch and entries had to be in for today!! I decided that I was going to use up some of the scraps that had been building up on my desk (useful tip from scrimpingmommy to use all scraps as and when you can) I'm now trying to make this my Mantra ha ha ha! As the sentiment dimension were not that big I only had one stamp that would fit so just had to go with it.

Material used were again Stampin' Up products.

Lemon and Lime Twist Card Stock
Berry Burst Card Stock
Berry Burst Itty Bitty Bow
Decorative Seasonal Masks inked with Lemon Lime Twist for a tone on tone look
Beautiful You Stamp Set for the sentiments.

Here was my last weeks "Birthday Card" entry.

Monochrome Mum

Everyone who knows me knows I just LOVE LOVE LOVE black and white so I thought I'd start off today's card with just that!

I didn't have any ideas apart from I knew I wanted polka dots with the sentiment I'd chosen.

I used my seasonal decorative masks (my go to when I don't have any Designer Series Paper) to make the polkas dots and backed it with black card stock. From there I stamped and punched out my pansy, adding another in black to offset it. Final touch a sparkly rhinestone in the middle. So that was my centre piece taken care of, time for the rest of the card! I'm not big on plain card so decided I'd use one of my embossing folders, and as I'm not using the full length of my card I could use my 6" x 6" Stampin' Up! one. For the inside I stamped some pansies and a lovely verse sentiment.

The materials I used were all Stampin' Up! apart from the sentiment and butterfly.

1 x A4 Whisper White card stock, scored in half to make an A5 card.
1 x Whisper White card stock cut at, 5 5/8" x 3 3/8" for Polka Dot piece.
1 x Basic Black card stock, cut at 5 3/4" x 3 1/2" to back my Polka Dot piece.
2 x Whisper White card stock cut at 2 3/8" x 2 3/8"

Seasonal Decorative Masks to make my Polka Dot background.
Festive Seasonal Impressions Embossing Folder for my top and bottom Whisper White pieces.
Basic Black Archival Ink
Birthday Blossoms Stamp Set
Pansy Punch

For not being sure on the final design I wanted I think it worked out quite nice.

Beautiful You Card

Well today I received my latest Stampin Up order of the Beautiful You Stamp set.

I'd seen a few cards on you tube and Pinterest using this stamp set and thought they were very "classy" looking. I couldn't wait to have a go, although being a newbie to the Stampin world I was a bit apprehensive because I'm not very good at colouring in. Through watching you tube videos though I learned that you don't have to be the greatest colourer, you can use the "splashes" of colour  that come in the set to stamp over her dress, which I did in the photograph. You can also use what is known as 'paper piecing' where you stamp the image of the lady and cut out her dress to place over your original stamped image. This is my next project I think, then I'll maybe move onto try colouring with my ink pads and aqua painter.

The materials I used were:

Very Vanilla Cardstock which I cut to A5 size as I like big cards,  then I added my first layer which was Night Of Navy. I then embossed and inked some very vanilla with Stampin Ups Seasonal Decorative Masks and Night Of Navy ink, stamped my image and sentiment onto the cardstock then cut it out using some layered circles. I finished it off with another beautiful sentiment from the set.

I'm quite pleased with the final results and plan to give this card to one of my beautiful stylish friends who I know will just love it!

If your thinking about buying the Beautiful You Set I say go for it, you'll love it!

Just For You Card

Today's card was designed to brighten up my mood since its been snowing outside for days, we couldn't get out of the house and ...
